Pioneer Club

Pioneer Clubs LogoThe Pioneer Club program helps boys and girls build healthy relationships with caring Christian adults, peers and most importantly, Jesus.  This is accomplished through:

*meaningful Bible study and Bible memory

*participative learning together and in smaller groups

*non-competitive ways to build self-esteem and a sense of teamwork

*skill building activities and award earning through regular participation

Here at Fellowship Church, we will start with the Discovery Program.  The Discovery Club Program is formatted to fit the needs of a smaller group and can be adapted as the group grows.  It is broken up into 24 complete meetings/6 units.  Children grades k-6 can meet together or can be broken into 2 groups (k-2), (3-6) for parts of the meeting time.  All children are encouraged to help each other reach their goals, and  older children are encouraged to be mentors by helping the younger ones.

Fellowship Church Discovery will meet on Sunday mornings during the regular Sunday service at 10:15.  A typical club will last for approximately 1 hour.  The schedule will generally be as follows:

*welcome and singing

*Bible study

*a skit or games

*a craft or skill building activity

*goodbye

Some Sundays we will stay in the regular service for the opening, going back for club after the worship songs are completed.  Occasional Sunday openings will be used for club recognition and children's participation in the opening (songs, skits).

Some activities will require time outside this Sunday hour allotted for club.  We will have activities (such as make up book work days, cooking or painting activities, outdoor activities) that will require some Saturdays, or Sunday afternoons, or an occasional early evening during the week.  These activities will be held with chaperones at places such as the Municipal Building, approved homes, parks, or a back room reserved in a restaurant.  Parents will be encouraged to attend these activities on occasion and at least a two week notice and form will be sent out for parents to review and sign. Parents will be asked every once in a while to volunteer as chaperones to insure that we have a good ratio of children vs adults.
